Due to Southeastern University’s growth both in infrastructure and in attendance, the space for parking has diminished.
Lt. David Bright, Director of Safety and Security, sent a school-wide email explaining all current available parking options on August 29, 2018.
The School has opened the Destino Lot for both student and faculty parking. However, the day
before home football games, all vehicles must be removed by 6:00 PM. If vehicles are not moved, they are subject to being towed and the owner is liable for any costs that may be incurred. The Destino Lot will then be reopened for parking following the football game after the visiting team's buses have left the lot.

Off campus parking options that have also become available include the Lowry Lot on Lowry Avenue near Crystal Lake Elementary, and Crystal Lake United Methodist Church at 2001 N. Crystal Lake Dr. These lots are open to staff, faculty, and students on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
It is important to note that the church lot is rarely full, but often people improperly park, blocking access to the larger grass lot. Bright explained that “parking is not permitted directly in front of the church or in the paved spaces along the sides.”
The Valencia Lot is reserved solely for faculty vehicles.
The North Bethany Grass Lot, located behind the North Bethany Apartments at 710 Longfellow Blvd., is open all hours for students, staff and faculty.
Shuttles run from the Portico cul-de-sac to the North Bethany Grass Lot, Lowry Lot and Crystal Lake Methodist Church on weekdays between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
If anyone needs shuttle service outside of the specified running hours they may contact Security at 863-667-5190.
All vehicles must be moved from the off campus parking by 6:00 PM.
Bright explained in the email address to campus, “If you know that you will be on campus after 6:00 PM, we do ask that you try to find a parking space in the North Grass Lot behind the North Bethany Apartments, and if there aren't any spaces on campus, park in the West Lot or in the West Grass Lot. The church and school board (owner of the Lowry Lot) have their own activities in the evenings and on weekends, so our agreements with them are only for weekdays until 6:00 PM. Also, all of our SEU lots, including the North Grass Lot, are well-lit and have cameras and emergency poles installed.”
Julie Myers, a junior and commuter student explained her frustration regarding parking.
“The parking struggle is real,” she said. “Even though most students and faculty have a mutual understanding that parking is horrible, students should still not be charged $120 to park their cars on campus when parking spots are so limited.”
